Student Magazine Sample

One important objective of our magazine writing programmes is for the students to write the content for their own magazine. Their writing is based on each of the morning activities. Our native English teachers help them with their writing in the afternoon lessons. They provide guidance on structure, tips on how to improve their writing, and any additional help the student may require. 

When students have finished, their writing is submitted to us before being edited and scanned into a specially designed magazine. Each student receives their own magazine containing their own writing.

Following a morning of kite flying in Clear Water Bay Country Park, students wrote a short story about the day they flew off with their kite.

Students spent the morning at Kadoorie Farm. The visit included watching the pigs being fed. They were asked, ‘What do you think it would be like to be a pig farmer? Is it a job you would like to have?’ That afternoon, they wrote their responses.

In the morning, students visited Monopoly Dreams exhibition and learnt about the history of Monopoly. In the afternoon, they were asked what they would do if they won a lot of money at Monopoly. They reviewed three specially produced videos about different charities before writing about where they would like to donate some of their money.

Students love to go to the cinema. On our most recent magazine writing course, we took the students to watch Disney’s Encanto which features a magical house. How would the students imagine their own magical house? They wrote down their ideas in the afternoon lesson.
